7 Artists Black Gospel Influenced Music
often refers to African-American Protestant vocal music that celebrates Christian doctrine in emotive, often dramatic ways. Vocal soloists are the best-known exponents of gospel, but vocal and choral groups of widely varying sizes have also helped to define the style. On SongPeddler, the genre influence of Black Gospel is more about the musical style than the lyrical content. We use the category of Contemporary Christian, and Christian music in combination with this when the vocal content is Christian oriented. The musical style includes simple melodies which are heavily ornamented by blue notes, glissandi, and a dramatic use of a wide vocal range. The accompanying instrument (often piano) has a distinct style as well sometimes referred to as 'back-cycling' between chords. Black Gospel also follows a distinct meter of 12/8 or 9/8 time signature.
Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation.
Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound. — Kabir
